Ok, here is the reminder to study for the test. The test requires you to recall the content of all six chapters so cuddle up with your book and study. Here is a brief list of topics study.
1. The difference between a prokaryote and eukaryote.
2. The parts of plant and animal cells and their functions.
3. The structure and function of the cell membrane.
4. Diffusion and osmosis.
5. Active transport mechanisms.
6. Cellular respiration - glycolysis, Krebs cycle, and electron transport chain.
7. Alcoholic fermentation.
8. Photosynthesis - light reactions and Calvin cycle.
9. C3, C4, and CAM plants - know the difference.
10. Cell signaling - G-protein-linked receptors, tyrosine-kinase, and phosphorylation cascade.
11. Cell cycle - mitosis and control of cell cycle.
This is just to get you going. Study, trust your intelligence, and I will be monitoring the blog today so if you have a question, post a comment to this post.
When you get to class, the test will be up front ready for you to pick up and start. Just put your things away and get going. There are 50 multiple-choice questions.

Finally.....the First Freeze in Parts of Western Washington
-
It is the end of November, and until a few days ago, large areas in western
Washington had not yet to experience temperatures of 32F or below. But

I am terrible I have a last minute question. What is the difference between a chemical gradient and an electro chemical gradient? Also, does "substances move down their con. gradient" mean that the molecules move from a high con. to a low?
Any question at any time, no problem (besides, yours is the only question I have had). Well first, a chemical gradient is any difference in concentration of a substance across a distance or a membrane so that on one end the concentration is high and the other, it is low. All substances move "down the concentration gradient" in other words, from high concentration to low. Now if the substance is an ion (charged particle, + or -), once you have a concentration difference of the ion you also have an electrochemical gradient. So they are closely related. Does that help?
Yes, thank you!
OMG i was just reading about those from my note, and was gonna ask you the same question. WOW i think her and me have the same mind. hehehe
Do we have to memorize the equation of cellular respiration?
Is the difference between C4,C3 plants and CAM plants is that CAM plants' stomates open at night and C4, C3's doesn't?
I was wondering about that also...
Why isn't Mr.Baker answering...-.-
I don't think i can wake up that early to check up on internet and go to school. I'll be late ..haha
Bulgan studying??! Amazing O_O
I'm having trouble understanding alcohol fermentation...
isn't it the breakdown of sugars, similiar to glycolysis
haha Inwoo, i'll see you in class!!!!!
Can somebody tell me what Active transport mechanisms is?
Hi! Look I'm reading it.
I suppose I'm too late though.
Tahira, you crack me up. Have you looked at the genetics problem set? Any questions?
