Read Ahead

Please feel free to read ahead. Read chapters 13 and 14 and do not try to understand everything. I suspect that you will understand some of it and the rest I will explain in class. But read, get in the habit. Find the time, set it aside and read an hour a day. You will know more, feel better about your effort, and biology will become interesting - really.

An unabashed lover of biology,
Mr. Baker

Hey Mr. Baker, I was just wondering about the Lab packet (mitosis and meiosis), when are we turning it in? Oh and we still have to debrief about the last part of the lab because some of us did not have any crossovers, in that case what do we write on the table? Are we going to have vocab for chapter 13 and the rest of the chapters??

Jeeze Ana, you are reading my mind. I figure that we will spend some time in class finishing the karyotype and mitosis/meiosis labs. At that time we will discuss crossing over in Sordaria. After, how about a leacture on chapters 13 and 14? As for vocabulary words, I would like to know what you think. Do you think we should continue with vocabulary? We have not had as much time in class to practice as I had envisioned and have been thinking about dropping vocabulary.

Noted and lets see what the others say.

I think you should give us the list and maybe a day to make them but really i think that practicing should be done on our own time. I use the vocab to create a picture in my head.

I find the vocabulary lists helpful. I agree with Ana. I think maybe a day in class to make them and we can study on our own time or possibly during SSR if we don't feel like read the book or a book.

I think we only need the time to make them (like Ana said) but not the time to study them during class cuz I don't think people can concentrate.
